Full program description

The objective of the Electric Power System Protection Professional Certificate is to determine all system voltages and currents under fault conditions for a specified power system. Traditional purpose- to enable designers to properly size circuit interrupting and other protective devices, and properly set relays. Permits post-event analysis of system failures to understand and prevent future events. Contemporary and evolving purposes- Concepts and terminology are necessary for understanding power system protec tion perspectives and terminology. Basis for real time system operation and control, and contingency, reliability. Technical approach- uses single-line diagrams, per-unit scaling, ac circuit analysis and symmetrical components.
