Full course description

The course covers the fundamentals of electric power engineering, which can be divided into five sections. The course covers the fundamentals of electric power engineering, which can be divided into five sections:

Analytical tools: ac circuits; 3-phase circuits, wye and delta connections, symmetrical components
Power Transmission Lines: EM Fields, HVAC, HVDC, ratings, circuit models
Power Transformers: mutual inductance, multi-windings, 3-phase connections, circuit models
Power Generation: the 3-phase synchronous machine, solar, wind, pumped storage
Loads: Static (heating, lighting), Rotating (motors)

The course is best suited for engineers of all disciplines with an interest in electric power engineering and is taught using a mix of qualitative information (pictures, diagrams, etc) and quantitative information (basic engineering analyses).
