Full course description
Welcome to Dealing with Human Errors! The usual responsibilities of an engineer or manager include problem solving and/or process troubleshooting. Human errors are generally found in all businesses to a varying degree. It is important that organizations have a structured approach for categorizing human error, identifying causes of human error and taking logical steps to minimize human error. Effective problem solving requires an organized approach, knowledgeable problem solvers, teamwork and the appropriate tools. Dealing With Human Error provides engineers and managers with a logical approach to improve understanding the causes of human error and how to take steps to prevent or minimize these errors. While there may be general categories, it is often difficult to look beyond ‘lack of training’ or ‘more training needed’ as the cause(s) and fix the real issues. This class will help you go beyond the ‘training fix’ to really understanding the type of human errors in your business and implementing appropriate preventive actions.
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Be able to more clearly define problems
- Learn to categorize human error
- Learn steps to minimize human error
- Be able to avoid treating symptoms
- How to know if errors are due to a training issue
