Welcome to Understanding ISO 9001: 2015!Process and product improvement are inherent in the work of most engineers, leaders and managers. The requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems standard are presented in “Understanding ISO 9001:2015.” This course is for anyone in engineering, technical, leadership or management positions. It can be especially beneficial to those who are responsible for quality, quality management and process improvement. Understanding ISO 9001:2015 is an overview course that will give the participant a general understanding of the requirements of the standard and provide insights into applying the underlying principles of quality management to their business. The participants will also learn how the registration process works to help them in the journey towards an ISO 9001 registered quality system. For those already registered to ISO 9001:2008, this course will provide information essential for the transition to the 2015 revision. The international quality management system standard, ISO 9001:2015, is the basis for an effective quality system for any business. This standard is recognized worldwide and provides businesses with a ‘road map’ for a quality system that can be tailored to their business. When the quality system is assessed and approved (registered) by an accredited third party, the market place has more confidence in the company as a supplier and it indicates a commitment to quality. Your quality system should be the way ‘the work gets done’; be easy to maintain; be user friendly; and provide significant internal benefits. Quality management requires a focus on seven fundamentals which are discussed in this course along with the required quality system elements that must be defined and deployed for an organization to be fully deploy the ISO 9001:2015 standard.
